Crayola Releases Fun Line of Colorful Face Masks for the Whole Family #rwanda #RwOT #AdvanceHBDPawanKalyan

What Happened: Iconic art supply company Crayola is known for education staples like crayons, markers and sidewalk chalk. With back-to-school just weeks away and cases of COVID-19 spiking in many parts of America, Crayola is getting into the mask business, offering colorful options for kids and adults alike.

Trademarked officially as “SchoolMaskPack,” Crayola offers packs of five daily color-coded reusable masks for kids and adults. The masks come in a mesh bag, making storage and cleanup a breeze. The kid’s sizes are for little humans, aged 3 – 11. Anyone over 12+ will need the adult-sized mask. All masks offer adjustable ear straps for a secure fit.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) encourage mask usage to slow the spread of COVID-19. In fact, the director of the CDC made headlines earlier this week with his estimation that widespread mask usage would effectively dampen the pandemic in the U.S.

If we could get everybody to wear a mask right now, I think in four, six, eight weeks we could bring this epidemic under control. — Dr. Robert Redfield, Director, Centers for the Disease Control and Prevention

The Frontlines: Cases of COVID-19 continue to rise in America and this has many parents on edge when considering school options for the fall. Many states, cities and national retailers have implemented mask mandates and now school systems across America are requiring face coverings for in-person instruction as well.

Some school districts like Los Angeles and San Diego will do the entire fall semester online. Other cities like Atlanta and Houston will adopt a blended model, where classes begin online and transition to traditional, in-person learning later in the semester as case levels allow. The CDC just released a study to illustrate how masks can reduce the spread of COVID-19 among communities and businesses.

  • Two Missouri-based hairstylists with COVID-19 worked while symptomatic. Both wore masks while working. The stylists saw a combined 139 clients. All clients wore masks. None of the clients reported secondary symptomatic infection.
  • More than 20 states have mask mandates and several large retailers like Walmart, Kroger and Target are rolling out policies requiring facial coverings while shopping inside stores. [

A Mighty Voice: Our contributor Meghan Bayer shared her personal story of living life behind a mask due to a rare autoimmune disease. Bayer hopes the pandemic and universal mask-wearing will make others more compassionate. “We are at a fork in the road. We get to define how future generations perceive those who are different. Those who require things like masks to survive. Let us choose to take the more compassionate path!”
